Safety Protocols
Here are Taylor Pro College protocols to ensure your safety during Covid-19.
All COVID 19 public masking mandates were repealed in BC & NS effective March 2022
Accessing the Campus Safely
To ensure that we do our part to reduce the risk of spreading the virus, we are asking our students to
complete the following tasks:
Before arriving on campus
- Students must complete a daily questionnaire online for Taylor Pro College before their arrival on campus.
- Students can also use the BC Covid-19 self-assessment tool to ensure that they are answering the questions correctly.
- Anyone with symptoms associated with COVID-19 as well as anyone who has traveled outside Canada in the previous 14 days or anyone identified as a close contact of a person with a confirmed case of COVID-19 must self-isolate in accordance with guidance from the BC Centre for Disease Control.
If any student, faculty, or staff answers yes in any of the items on our daily questionnaire or self-assessment review will be provided information on how to contact 8-1-1. In some cases, one may be required to speak to a medical provider for further health advice.
Taylor Pro College is working with local health care providers and student health services to ensure that faculty, staff, and students have easy access to COVID-19 testing. We will be obtaining advice from the local public health authority around managing cases of COVID-19 in our institution.
Arriving on Campus
- All students will be provided with a schedule as to when to access the campus safely. This schedule cannot be changed.
- All students will be required to wear a mask on campus or provide a medical note from their physician if they are not able to wear a mask. Students with the exception may be required to attend online classes.
- There are markings outside each campus and students are asked to line up to ensure social distancing is followed.
- Students will only be allowed to enter one at a time. The administration will ensure students have completed the screening questions and ensure that they have sanitized their hands or wear gloves.
- Students are then reminded of which class they are going to.
- Students will also be reminded of the signage in each room. Each classroom will list the campus protocols in posters and on each monitor. Taylor Pro College will update students on any changes through social media and email.
On-Campus
- Students will be required to ensure their face masks are correctly worn and will not be removed especially within the campus. If students leave the campus for any reason and return they will be asked to sanitize and ensure their masks are clean. Students will be required to sanitize their hands or wash them upon arriving.
- The student lounge will be limited to three students at a time. In washrooms, we ask that only one student per class at a time. Ensure that we have proper social distancing.
- Each classroom is updated to ensure that all students are following the required social distancing regulations. Students are asked not to move any equipment and stay in their assigned seats and classes.
- Students need to follow their schedule for being on campus so we can ensure that we can provide the proper cleaning and sanitization of each classroom.

Advisory Update
To: Private EQA Designated Post Secondary Institutions
November 2020
Greetings,
Yesterday BC’s Provincial Health Officer (PHO) ordered new province-wide restrictions to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. Some of these restrictions previously applied to the Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Regions only. As of November 19, 2020, they apply to the entire province. Below is a summary.
Masks are required in all indoor public settings and workplaces
- This applies to common areas where people circulate freely, such as hallways, stairwells, elevators, etc. but not to restricted areas such as enclosed office spaces where physical distancing can be maintained.
- The mask requirement does not apply to people unable to wear a mask or put on or remove a mask on their own.
Social gatherings
- No gatherings of any size with anyone other than your household or core bubble. This applies to both indoor and outdoor spaces.
- A person who lives alone may have up to two other people visit if they are people with whom the person regularly interacts.
Events
All events and gatherings as defined in the PHO Gatherings and Events Order are suspended until further notice.
NOTE:
- This does not apply to educational activities offered by post-secondary institutions to deliver and/or support student learning and development.
- Please see page 15 of the COVID-19 Go-Forward Guidelines for BC’s Post-Secondary Sector for more information on educational activities.
- Events such as convocation ceremonies are not considered educational activities.
Athletic Activities
- Please review the Athletic Activities section of the new province-wide restrictions.
- The following high-risk indoor group physical activities must be suspended:
° Spin classes
° Hot yoga
° High-intensity interval training - Gyms and recreation facilities that offer individual workouts and personal training sessions can remain open as long as they have a COVID-19 Safety Plan that is strictly followed.
- Games, competitions and practices can continue with no spectators and no travel.
Travel
- All non-essential travel should be avoided. This includes travel into and out of B.C. and between regions of the province.
- Essential travel within BC includes:
